To find out what you want, the more important question is WHY you want it.
The question about the WHY is where our true desire often comes to light.
For example, when I was frustrated with my job, I wanted to leave that job and become an entrepreneur. So becoming an entrepreneur was my goal. I started my own business. However, it did not sustain for long because of various reasons. Now when I look back and think about what is that I was really looking for at that time, it was the work that will give me satisfaction and joy.
A few months later I started working with an organization where I could do the work which gives me joy. So it became clear that being an entrepreneur was not what I was looking for rather it was work which will give me joy.
This story will surely show you how important it is to question your WHY when you are looking for your true desire.
Question 1 - What Would You Do With Your Life if Money Wasn't an Issue?
Most of our needs are connected to money and we feel if money is our concern then we cant get what we want in life. For time being, just keep this concern aside.
Think, that you can afford anything and everything. If this is the situation what is that you truly want? What would your lifestyle look like? Don't limit yourself; you can have everything you want!
Question 2 - What Things Would You Like to Experience if You Have Absolutely No Fear?
Fear is another big mind block that keeps many people from reaching their ultimate goal or desire.
Even I fear so many things like what if people laugh at me, what if people judge me, what will happen if my income stops etc.
If fear is an issue for you, you can use it to find, what you really want because there is a big chance that this fear will hold you back from your big goal.
So ask yourself, if fear was absolutely no issue for you and nothing could happen to you, how would your life look different than it is now?
Question 3 - What Would Your Ideal Day Look Like?
When you think about your ideal day, it's not limited to one day when you want to live all of it. Visualize how would your ideal day be, for the rest of your life.
Here it is crucial that you don't limit yourself, this is your day, you don't have to take care of anyone. Money doesn't matter. You can spend the day where you want, how you want, and with who you want.
Question 4 - You Are 100 Years Old and Look Back, What Would You Be Most Happy About?
When I used to talk to my grandmother, she used to share stories from her life. What she is grateful for, what she remembers most, what made her feel satisfied and content.
This made me think if I would be 100 years old and would look back in my life, what would I be most happy about having experienced it?
This question can go very deep, don't belong to those people who look back someday and say to themselves: "Oh if I could only turn back time...".
Think about what you would say when you are older, what would make you happy, proud, in peace with yourself... if you know that you did it in your life. And make it your goal to have these experiences before you are 100 years old.
Question 5 - What Do I Not Like to Do?
If you are still not clear about what you want, then one more simple question to think about is, what you don’t want. Because most of the time we are clear about what we don’t want rather than what we want.
Like as a child, when people used to ask me what do you want to become when you are grown up, I used to answer I don’t want to be a doctor. Any other profession will do.
While when we are talking about law of attraction, all of us knows universe doesn’t understand the term DON’T or NOT, but to find out what you really want, it can be helpful to answer the question about "what you don't want."
I hope these questions help you figure out what you want in life.
